electra glide in blue

the last time we were in cannes, carla & george & i became regulars at the epic electra glide in blue café, a biker bar on the croisette named after james william guercio's cult film, which opened there back in 1973.

we loved the electra glide in blue café because it was cheap, unassuming, totally rock n roll, and frequented exclusively by working class, film-addicted locals; plus, the beer was really good.

now it looks like girlontape is back on her way to cannes to champion our film talking to the trees... and if i make it, i mos def plan to raise a glass to the seventh art at the electra glide in blue café.

meanwhile, i leave you with what one critic dubbed "among the top ten most beautiful, moving and poetic" final sequences in the history of film, not the best quality but utterly sublime with this yo la tengo track, and shot by the great conrad l. hall:

i love this film & was so impressed the cannes locals even named a cool bar after it!
