(this story in english)
djs pareja are my destiny

Los pareja contestaron así: last night a DJ saved my life from a broken heart/last night a DJ saved my life with a song...efectivamente.
I had to give in to the evidence: apparently djs pareja are my own private magnet.
Last night's soulful set came with an impressive entourage of glamorous boys who filled casa brandon with untamed hairdos, genius accessories, and unflinching dedication to the night clubbing cause.
Our dynamic duo on the decks answered as follows: last night a DJ saved my life from a broken heart/last night a DJ saved my life with a song...and yes, it worked.

Otra vez tengo una erección. ¡Oh, primavera!

of benjamin and boytoys
Needless to say, my favorite chanteur of the moment looked even better on niceto's stage while being hailed by thousands of adoring fans than he did standing in the middle of our friend's cocktail party last week. His hair was wild, his tattoos were hot, his t-shirt was lacoste, and his band was wicked.
But the peak moment for me came while discussing le punk rock etcetera with the guitarist backstage after the show, when for mysterious reasons our tragic-romantic crooner's sweaty t-shirt landed on my lap. Far from questioning this unexpected gift, I fetishistically inhaled the soulful idol's testosterone-laden essence, humming:
qu'es-ce que ça peut foutre
qu'es ce que ça peut faire
puisqu'au bout de la route
il n'y a q'un grand désert...
However, all good things must end was Magali's tactful reminder as she gently but firmly detached me from this fabled object and guided me back onto the dance floor, where fabián dellamonica and the kid who preceded him on the decks aka juanmagrillo held us under their spell for several hours. Which is when I experienced the local equivalent of what we call a boytoy and the argies call a chongo, first-hand.
He manifested as a Racing football fan sprung from the depths of a remote neighborhood with an undecipherable name, his Italian heritage translated into the guise of a contemporary Joe D'Allessandro and his delightful candy-flavored tongue triggering primitive fantasies of being barefoot and pregnant, cooking him spaghetti while he cheats on me over and over but returns every time like a sexual boomerang to scream my name on his knees in perfect streetcar named desire marlon brando style so of course I forgive him and then he voluptuously knocks me up with yet another equally brutish, handsome and sensual future Racing fan. And this is where I can finally say it with gonad-driven sincerity: long live perón goddammit...except Roma beats Racing, now and forever.

PS.

A man. Un mec. No es puto. No es borracho ni pendejo ni pesado. Es...hermoso. Y cineasta.
As a child I knew
That the stars could only get brighter
And we would get closer
Get closer
Leaving this darkness behind

Leaving this darkness behind

Feeling protected by Pola's necklace and Dani's bracelet, piling into a friend's car with the posse, cruising down Plaza Congreso artfully veiled in a cinematic haze of smoke from the endless Delta bushfires, dancing to ACDC and Kiss and the cherry on top: realizing that bewitching wild-haired creature over by the window is in fact the musician from Paris I got hooked on through my television sometime last year.
Go talk to him hisses my friend the dandy propelling me through the mob of fans. Hernan I feel stupid you do it I hiss back. He likes girls, do it now I'm right behind you says Hernan ruthlessly, by now I'm face to face with the object of our twin desire so I babble at him incoherently and he actually replies and just when by some miracle it appears we are having a conversation Hernan snakes around me and pounces.
I barely have time to feel used by my dandy friend's superior willpower when our soulful idol turns back to me and says, "I like your fake fur" just before he disappears beneath the next wave of admirers. I float back to the dance floor, humming Qu'est-ce que ça peut faire/De savoir qu'on c'est fait la guerre... His name is benjamin biolay, he makes genius music and he plays Niceto tomorrow night.
cuatro djs, one love
As a child I knew
That the stars could only get brighter
That we would get closer
Leaving this darkness
Behind
Now I'm the artist and you're the fan
I'm a freak but I excel
And I just can't help myself
Four DJs, One Love
It went like this: in a warehouse near the river with horses trotting in relief around its walls the games begin with a masterful set by djs pareja, their scintillating beats mercifully drowning out my friend's snide comment now I get why he took off.
My punishment is swift and severe: you can kiss clive owen goodbye...if he calls I'm not sharing! I'm just thinking who needs enemies with friends like these when an unknown caller appears on my cell; I pick up in case clive did get my message; mysteriously, it's martín churba looking for our hostess.
But why question anything at all when the music is taking me away, the dance floor is on fire, and now my beloved mascarpone in his cute joy division t-shirt picks up the torch and lights our way down the snaking hallways of a funky soulful house, in which dany nijensohn shows up to weave his elegant aural complexities and I hear:
As a child I knew
That the stars could only get brighter
That we would get closer
Leaving this darkness
Behind
which gives me goose bumps. Can there be room for one more? Fast forward to my favorite basement where dr. trincado is teaching school, with nina hagen and hercules & love affair LP covers as visual aids.
Within an intricate soundscape of fierce multi-layered beats here comes the rap, the hip hop, the rock 'n roll and even whitney houston...and in case anyone should miss the thesis of his brilliant mixology, the professor sums it up for us as follows:

Just when it was looking pretty fucking grim...Tripp came up with a brilliant solution: this 1971 Airstream as the setting for our upcoming I GET BY WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS tour.
I can see it now: Mary Poppins at the wheel, Major Tommy keeping the log, Our Man In Berlin shooting the video, Girl in a Miniskirt oozing that essential glamour we can no longer live without, and the Evil Twin grumbling about how unstable everything is while our genius manager fiddles with the eccentric-looking knobs to tune in to the best rock 'n roll station in the Americas if not the world, i.e. Radio Kabul out of Buenos Aires.

The dialogue might go something like this. The Twin, spilling his Scotch again: "Please remind me why I signed on for this."
The Major, quoting himself quoting Hunter S. Thompson: "Buy the ticket, take the ride."
Girl in a Mini: "No you can't borrow my plaid mini. I don't care if it matches your boa."
Berlin: "Your face fills my frame with utter perfection. Ein lieben zu my darling."
Mary: "Did that sign just say Paris, Texas?"
Tripp, hanging up: "Trent Reznor wants to know can he hitch a ride with us. His Airstream just broke down."
The Twin: "I told you this retro junk is a piece of shit."
Me: "Ein lieben you too."
Radio Kabul: "Are you sad because you're on your own? No, I get by with a little help from my friends, Mmm I get high with a little help from my friends, Mmm I'm gonna try with a little help from my friends..."
elastigirl: "Mary for god's sake slow doooooown."
Trent: "Thanks guys. I brought those lollapalooza VIP passes you wanted."
emma peel: "I love your new tattoos, Trent."
Trent: "I love your wild red hair, Emma."

a moveable feast

"The mural, which is here at the loft, is quite sexy. But not as sexy as the lifestyle your blog illustrates. My dear, your e-mail reminds me how much fun it was to have you around. Judging by your pictures and the state of NYC nightlife, I think you took the party with you to Argentina."This letter from a long-time and sorely missed friend brought to mind certain immortal words by the hard-drinking, tough-shooting great American novelist whose terse prose taught me so much, and which I paraphrase as follows:
If you're lucky enough to have lived in New York as a young woman, then wherever you go for the rest of your life it stays with you, because New York is a moveable feast.
microcuento con engaños y una instalación gore
Tiny Tale of Traitors and Gory Gifts
Today I woke up thinking about betrayal, aka the weapon of choice of the weak against the strong, when I realized that the floor next to my bed had been tastefully decorated with an installation of bird feathers, some with shreds of bloody flesh still attached at the roots. My trio of four-footed lads, feigning indifference but puffed up with pride, blinked placidly in the sunshine that flowed from the open window. Repressing my gag reflex and thankful that somehow I slept through the massacre, I showered them with expressions of gratitude for this bold and unequivocal demonstration of feline love and loyalty. So it is with yet another unexpected gift that my birthday month number 42, which has been replete with surprises ranging from the grotesque to the sublime, finally draws to an end.
synchronicity
with one breath

synchronicity
the police
There are nights when, due to some mysterious alchemy operating on levels completely alien to our individual will, everything falls perfectly into place. So in San Telmo after dinner MRP, wearing scarlet boxing gloves, welcomed us with the ritual launch of a fluorescent teddy bear from the second-floor window of a loft filled with pretty paintings and extravagant toys, while later in our favorite den of perdition, the queen of the flaming hair gave proof of noblesse oblige with an invitation to her liquid cabaret: another unanticipated boon in my birthday month number 42, which has been filled with surprises ranging from the grotesque to the sublime.
Our next location was compass, where a certain object of our female lust awaited us gallantly with comps. Narrowly avoiding the cute lesbian with early joan jett hair who threw herself into my arms in a fit of alcoholic ardor, we instantly dove into the B Side where DJ keem, a profound rock 'n roll connoisseur, guided us with a hand both firm and passionate along historical pathways that were never trite, always exquisite. My grateful puma heart engraved with the motto I love rock 'n roll beat faster, while the ever-skeptical Boy with Curls assured me that the nearby youthful masses in RamonesTshirt+ConverseSneakers uniform were oblivious to the brilliant seminar of rock we had stumbled into. They're totally clueless, he muttered tartly in my ear.
Meanwhile, the other side of the club was on fire. We migrated into the main space, where the duo of adorable lads manning the decks caught my eye and yes it was them...Buenos Aires' very own, the legendary djs pareja taking us higher and higher with consummate love and mastery. For the second time within a few hours I experienced that dancer-DJ symbiosis I always look for and only sometimes find, because maintaining loyalty to partners, scenes, esthetics and devices is only half the battle: you also have to chance upon one of those nights that, born under the sign of synchronicity, out of nowhere, weave plots that are calibrated to perfection.

Maga's lovely hair and the way it gleams down her back, the sylph who materialized out of nowhere and swayed across the room with a gait so flawless, haughty and glamorous that it was unsettling to watch, Mariel and her crisp, fresh, precise way of taking up space, Lisa's hug so different from before, the fine grain of Silvia's beauty and the colors she chooses to wear, and that beat: feathery, transparent, fleeting, in which I knew I'd fallen in love with the city at last
hello, i love you won't you tell me your name

Her arms are wicked, and her legs are long
When she moves my brain screams out this song

11pm
El onírico defile de Martín Churba remixado por el colectivo teatral The Other People me dispara las siguientes reflexiones:
Long Night with Glitter, Fashion, Dancing and a Wig
10pm
Waiting for my hot date outside the Konex cultural center, I run into a young actress whose powerful performance in XXY, director Lucía Puenzo’s prize-winning hermaphrodite flick, pretty much blew my mind.
I’m busy congratulating her when she blows my mind all over again by introducing me to her own hot date, actress Carolina Peleritti.
This woman has had me spellbound ever since I glimpsed her at the premiere of our friend’s entertaining romcom: ultra chic in a little black dress and high-heeled pumps that even I drooled over, she stood out like a marvelous swan in a drab multitude of ducks that were trying too hard.
Don’t judge a book by its cover, my ass…that long-ago night it became clear to me that, as much as I yearn for a girlfriend like Joan Jett, I also hunger for one just like Carolina.
11pm
Designer Martín Churba’s dreamlike fashion show as remixed by British theater collective The Other People sparked the following reflections:
1. Time to step up Anthony…hand over those Churba heels your promised.
2. Greg in drag with a platinum wig is strangely moving.
3. Though I’m digging the sparse, hallucinatory lighting, I’m flying blind…where is Carolina?
12am
Our next location is a much-beloved converted warehouse whose present evolution into a multi-level chacarita-style chateau, combining a penthouse pool with an obstacle course of rickety winding metal stairs, gives rise to a variety of thrills plus several surface wounds.
Luckily the house drink, cucumber gin and tonic, turns out to have anesthetic properties.
Among the glittering crowds thronging tonight’s triple celebration are the founding members of the Argentina Obamagirls Committee, sublime chanteur Pablo Krantz, who opens for none other than Jane Birkin in Buenos Aires later this week, the dashing Liliana, whose feminine fearlessness reminds me of certain New York girlfriends I miss like crazy, the lovely Paula Stoliar, whose lens expertly captures my glitter dress like nobody’s business, our multi-talented alphaqueen and modern incarnation of Lady Cavendish, the only traditional writer who dances, my favorite contemporary German photographers and the list goes on.
5.30am more or less
It is purely out of patriotic pride that I must mention our last stop, i.e. a Cordoba Avenue dive that makes up with its street sign what it sorely lacks in late nite trashglam: it is named in honor of the one, the only, our beloved, her majesty… Mina.
