Hey Mrs Tape, your an experienced photgrapher, what do you think about this thing about Obama's Dad being Frank Marshall Davis?
To me the likeness is striking, there may be some interesting revelations ahead!

re: B.O.'s father, here's some comparitive pictures. Ignore the fact that its a raving right wing site - they all are, but look at the shapes in the faces.
The shape of Obama's lips especially are exactly like Davis's, the lines around the mouth the groove between mouth and nose, the shape of the eyes is very similar too.
Obama Senior has no little ridge on the front upper lip like Davis and Barak, but instead they are fuller, smoother and go inwards at the upper front. He also has a fuller, shorter face and high cheekbones.

Scratch all that, I'm a half cocked douche. Further in depth investigation shows Obama's mother had lips with a little point at the front like Obama's.
File under possible right wing nuttery.
Now I'm really confused :(

it's campaign time J... the only thing that matters is getting Obama elected

I suppose if you are of a bohemian mindset then you prefer politicians with less Old Testament and more jazz but the Empire rolls on regardless.

A politically active friend of mine cracked the beers open when Obama got in, but you should have seen his face when I asked if Obama would top Bush's kill count. He's got some way to go but if he gets in again and knocks over Syria and Iran, well, he could get an all time high score.
Some may see him as a mitigating force against the aggression of the US, but I'm not convinced about that.
But hey, don't we need all that oil, whomever sits on the Big Perch? What are we going to do without it?

When I'm not puzzling over Obama's true family I like a bit of Gore Vidal - he's very interesting on the Empire, and very funny.

hail the ole empire and yes, i feel much safer with obama in the white house than his bible-thumping drug addict fundamentalist predecessor...

J said...

But you're not safer, haven't civil liberties become even more under attack under Obama, don't the brewing wars bother you?
What do you think of the drone attack committee that Obama is part of in which he personally selects targets, including children?
What do you think of the powers he has used to kill American citizens without trial or due process?
Don't these strike you as bad things, not the marks of a moral hero?

J said...

So, you don't mind how out of control political and military power is, as long as you don't feel you are in it's crosshairs?
Are you sure this is not going to affect you?

girlontape said...

I am so over that anti-American shite and so will you when you grow up J... honest

J said...

I was thinking the same about you...
So, what happens when your hated republicans get hold of the measures Obama has introduced?

J said...

But enough! I suppose someone's photography blog isn't the place for it.

girlontape said...

I 2nd that motion J... more to the point: did you collect me?

J said...

Collect? Are they keeping you at the post office with my ebay stuff?

girlontape said...

you were so busy ranting against imperialism you overlooked the point of this post... beauty will save the world -Solzhenitsyn

J said...

I did overlook the collect thing.
OK, I'm not entirely convinced of the thesis, though it is one I do think about often, but you're a sport and the photos are cool so I'll collect.

J said...

Exlains that blundering feeling I had.

You're so funny J.
The world is a terrifying place, in the hands of raving madmen and cold-blooded apparatchiks, some of us are lucky to live in relative safety while the vast majority are racked with war, famine, pestilence and devastation. I don't have any answers. Thanks for collecting me.

It's true, in many respects I am super lucky (with a bit of skill too). Thank you for reminding me.
